Press Floor Lamp

The Mingei Movement, which shaped modern Japanese design, emphasized the pursuit of practical beauty as well as the universal appeal of everyday craftwork design, and its influences are apparent in the Press Floor Lamp. Glass tubes are pressed, as if pinched, allowing the light source to fit into the narrowed space, therefore not relying on a metal form or secondary structure for support. The compression of the glass produces a soft and organic form, imbuing each lamp with a singular appearance.
